Georgians Organized Against Lupus (GOAL) is a study led by the Division of Rheumatology at Emory University School of Medicine in collaboration with the Georgia Department of Public Health.
The GOAL study aims to learn more about the health of Georgians with lupus and how this illness impacts their quality of life and ability to function. The focus is on helping fight lupus by learning about the challenges and needs of people living with it.
This study is a multi-year journey. We appreciate our GOAL members who have been participating for 10+ years and the consideration and support of new members!
Your unique experiences living with lupus are tremendously valuable.
You might wonder what real impact you may have by becoming a GOAL member. Through each person’s story, we can identify the sources of health disparities and the needs of different lupus patients. This information is vital not just for medical researchers; it may also help policymakers improve the health care system and the services for those with lupus. Ultimately, the information obtained through GOAL could be used to make treatments and services more tailored, accessible, and affordable.
We strive to represent ALL Georgians.
If you agree to participate, you may, based on your preference, receive one or two survey sets per year by mail or email. The survey questions will ask about you, your health, factors that can impact your health, your health care, and your experiences living with lupus.
Even if you have not been experiencing any symptoms lately, we would still like to encourage you to consider participating. A little bit of your time could have a huge impact!
All information collected during this study will be reviewed only for research purposes. All facts about you are private and protected.
