What is the purpose of this Study?
The purpose of this research is to learn more about the health of Georgians with lupus and the physical effects caused by the illness. This research will also help us understand the problems lupus patients may have with getting health care.
What will I be asked to do?
If you agree to participate, you may receive one or two surveys per year in the mail, by email, or at your Emory or Grady lupus clinic visits. The survey questions will ask about your health and the factors that can impact your health and your health care. Each survey set may take between 15 and 45 minutes to complete. If received by mail, we will give you a postage-paid envelope to return these to us by mail.
How do I benefit directly from the Study?
Taking part in this study may not benefit you personally, but we may learn new things about lupus. In the future, patients may benefit from the knowledge gained by this Study.
Will I be compensated for my time and effort?
Depending on the type of survey you receive, upon completion of the survey, you will receive a $20 gift card for survey set A and a $50 gift card for survey set B. You may be asked to complete sets A or B, or both. You can choose to do as many surveys as you wish.
Can I withdraw from the Study after I consent to participate?
You have the right to leave this Study at any time without penalty.
